Distractions Du Jour
Is it just Karl, or have you noticed a commie inclination to grab at any distraction possible to avoid announcing an agenda? Karl only has about 15 years of experience watching America's political discourse, so his perspective is limited to recent experience. Maybe Jimmy Carter announced passivity and inflation, and we were too juvenile to notice.
So no agenda yet from America's deep-thinkers on the Left. Why?
1) The commie bed-wetters let anything distract them moments before they are to come out as leaders with a new, pro-American vision?
2) Or, they do not have an agenda?
Obviously, #2 above would be a horrific discovery. One of America's two primary political parties is trying to fool 300 million Americans that they have an agenda? That the American Left has been using some sort of moral-equivalence argument to retain some level of political power without any sincere interest in governing? Impossible!
So, allow Karl to prove position #1 above by keeping a list of convenient distractions, with the most recent at the top.
Election 2008
Election 2006
October 2006
Event: Republican Congressman Foley’s Resignation over sexually-graphic Internet communications with a House page.
Distracting From: North Korea warns of a nuclear test, Republicans gain momentum for the mid-term elections.
Another reason to postpone announcing the Democratic Party’s agenda.
October 2006
Event: Michael J. Fox campaigns for stem cells, is criticized by Rush Limbaugh for purposefully over or under medicating.
Distracting From: North Korea warns of a nuclear test, Republicans gain momentum for the mid-term elections, New Jersey Supreme Court’s decision for gay marriage.
Another reason to postpone announcing the Democratic Party’s agenda.
